Libraries

Libraries? Yes entering a library is like penetrating inside an open book, there are so many pages you can turn amongst the shelves, thousands of stories just waiting to be discovered.
Maybe you must like reading to enjoy the many wonders of a library.
What I love about them is the peacefulness you encounter, the certain smell that intrigues you, the librarian who meets at you the doorstep while the bell is still ringing in the background and leads you through his treasures.
Amongst stools, wooden ladders, shelves and dust, you find that precious book you have been looking for.
I agree this might be a stereotype but nonetheless you can find these libraries.
I don’t know when it all started, but there has been an ongoing resentment for school libraries for as long as I can remember, especially here. If you hang out in the CDI in our school you are considered a bookworm, a geek, and some sort of an outcast … Haven’t you noticed that in most movies the geeky boy or girl has there nose stuck in a book?
I use to love reading after lunch, but my friends drove me out because it was considered “very uncool”, sadly you always care about the impression you give to others, no matter what you say.
If you appreciate the true beauty of a library and what it brings to you, it is a great quality.
It’s as if you have been given a great source of knowledge on a silver plate: thousands of books that hold so much.
Well this is a bit of propaganda … but small books stores keep closing down and libraries aren’t used as often as before.
Public libraries have been forced to close in the UK last year due to government cuts.
Now that we all hold magic at our fingertips with Kindels or the application iBook, no one needs to bother and borrow a book it is all on the Internet.
However who uses iTunes to buy a book?
People don’t read anymore. It once was the only source of entertainment, the way you could travel, learn new things, and find answers to your questions. Now it’s all so simple , it’s only a click away. Because we are one of the new generartions,we have to keep borrowing books from libraries and devour them .
We have to stop letting them close by continuing to read ! Reading has been around for a long time as well as libraries .
So it cannot end now, not with us at least.
